The Death of the Plague

My dear friends and allies, I bring wonderful news to the Lost Guard. A short while ago the majestic host of Daemonbane detected a force of 40 Plaguebearers, in 2 groups, and 3 swarms of Nurglings, led by a fearsome Exalted Daemon of Nurgle, encroaching from the South on our majesic citadel of Tor Anroc. House Daemonbane, being the closest force to this Plague spreading force, immediately launched force to annihlate and stop the spread of Nurgle in our realm. The Asur army was a realatively small force consisting of 1 unit of 12 Spearelves, 1 unit of 10 Archers with the mage Marcion Spellcrafter (My personal magical advisor), 8 Shadow Warriors and, of course, 5 Dragon Princes led by myself.

The battle was a fierce, long and evenly matched as for every daemon that fell in combat an elf was taken with him. The Daemonbane elves started the battle off by shooting at the exalted daemon and even managed to wound it as it flew toward my forces, to charge the nobles of Daemonbane, he took two out of the fight quickly but was then overmatched by the pure skill and revulsion of House Daemonbane, the Exalted Daemon soon felt the magic he thrived on become weaker and he faded from existence. Marcion Spellcrafter then brought the full powers of Asur magic to bear, as he blasted 4 Plaguebears with Khaine's Fury, and brought down a curse on the Plaguebearers to make arrows find their mark easier, and indeed they did as all 10 arrows hit their marks only for 3 to fall due to the toughness and daemonic magic running through the daemons. The Shadow Warriors attracted the attention of the Nurglings and confused them with the dance of shadow and blade (eg stalking arround them shooting arrows at them and other targets of opprotunity) 3 plaguebearers and one swarm of Nurglins fell to the unforgiving arrows of the Aesanar. It was then that the Knights of Daemonbane charged the leading rot infested group of daemons and in the swirling combat the other Dragon Princes fought bitterly, Daemon after Daemon fell to the powers of the Princes but in the end only I was concious, I was surrounded by 6 daemons but through pure martial skill and the strength of my arms and armor, I did not suffer a singhle wound. My blows and my horse cut down 4 daemons.

While this was happening my Spearelves were charged by the second Plaguebearer group my elves fought long and hard and although half fell to the unholy might of the daemon they fought on, eventually banishing enough for Marcion to seize upon the rip and reality and banish the rest of that unit to the Realm of Chaos. the elves then turned to witness, me cut down the remaining 6 daemons as the Shadow Warriors finally cut down the last of the Swarm of Nurglings. It was a great day and many celebrated the victory over the hated Daemon spawn of Nurgle, may this be a precursor to the WAR to come!!

(this was a 1000 point battle between the High Elves of House Daemonbane vs the Daemonswarm of Nurgle)

Oh and personally I would have had more Dragon Princes as it seems like they could have done with the extra kick....

yes I probably should of taken out a few archers and made it 3 more Dragon Princes but also remembering that they actually had lances when I charged as well would have also made a difference...
